Traditionally, brands work behind closed doors, they develop the product, refine the design, perfect the story, launch when everything is ready and customers only see the final chapter.
For a long time, we assumed we would do the same then something unexpected happened. The deeper we travelled into materials, manufacturing and circular design, the more we realised the journey itself was becoming just as interesting as the product. The questions. The discoveries. The challenges. The people. The lessons. Suddenly it felt strange to hide the very thing which inspires SunGods in the first place.
One of the biggest surprises of this journey has been discovering how many people are asking similar questions. What are products actually made from? Why is so much hidden behind marketing language? Why does luxury often feel disconnected from nature? Why do so few products have a way home?
Those conversations became The Circle, not a customer database, not a marketing channel, a community of curious people exploring similar questions. People interested in better materials, better systems, better living and better outcomes.
At first glance, Kickstarter might seem like a funding platform. For us, it represents something different, participation. It gives people an opportunity to become part of the journey before our products exist, to help shape what comes next, to become founders rather than spectators. In many ways, it feels perfectly aligned with everything we have learned so far because SunGods was never meant to be built behind closed doors. It was always meant to be built with people.
Perhaps the biggest lesson of the past year is that meaningful change rarely happens alone. Every material. Every supplier. Every manufacturer. Every product designer. Every supporter. Every conversation has helped shape what SunGods is becoming, the Founder Run simply extends that idea, an invitation to help build something differently and together.
Awakening helped us ask better questions, Discovery helped us understand the complexity behind the answers and Movement is about participation, eventually every idea reaches a point where curiosity must become action and perhaps that is where the most interesting part of the journey begins.
